Art

Fine Art instruction is provided by Frances Byrd, a classically trained artist with a broad range of art history knowledge and a Major in Illustration. Mrs. Byrd is also practicing artist with a professional studio in her home.

Mrs. Byrd shares her knowledge of art with the children, as well as encourages their individual creativity. She provides each child with individual attention as needed, while giving group instruction on the principles and theories of art. Each child is encouraged to create her own art in the sketchbook provided, as well as participating in instruction-driven activities using fine art quality materials.

Mrs. Byrd provides parents with a monthly newsletter to inform you of our progress and provide pictures of ongoing work in the sketchbooks.

All classes meet on Tuesday when school is in session. Primary students in Ms. Panish's class receive instruction from 2:30 - 3:00, Ms. Jasna' and Ms. Camardella's primary students 3 - 3:30; and  Elementary  from 3:30 - 4:30. Fees are $30 for Primary and $45 for Elementary per month. There is a $25 supply fee due the first class. Please remember that art is messy. If you are concerned about stains, you can provide your child with an apron to protect their clothes. (Please make sure you write their name on it.)
