Weather Emergencies
In the case of severe weather such as ice, snow, extreme cold, or flooding, listen to WSB radio for school closing reports. Emergency closings are also posted on the home page of thsi website. If Gwinnett County schools are closed, we will also be closed. In the case of tornado warnings, keep your child at home. If threatening weather develops in our area, parents should call the school to inform the Head of School and/or Office Manager, even though there is a weather radio on the premises. Every possible precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of the children. A tornado drill will be practiced routinely.
Fire or Other Emergencies
The school is equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler system. A fire escape plan is practiced routinely with the children. All staff are certified in Fire Safety procedures and routinely re-certified.
Should there ever be a power failure or other physical problem to the building, parents will be notified as soon as possible to make arrangements for an early pick up. If there is ever a need to evacuate the building immediately, children will be escorted on foot to the Today’s Kids Day Care center next door or to the First Baptist Church of Grayson, located across the street. Emergency plans have been developed and are posted in the lobby for parental viewing.
