Stephanie Michielsen, Head of School  Stephanie Michielsen is a mother of four children and has over 21 years of classroom and whole school administration experience. She founded Garden of Discovery Montessori in 1999 after obtaining an AMI Montessori diploma from the Montessori Institute of Atlanta and an undergraduate degree in Buisness Management from Reinhardt University. Mrs. Michielsen's four children have all attended Garden of Discovery Montessori.
Jeanne-Marie Bailey, Education Director  Jeanne-Marie first became involved in Montessori in 2005 as a parent when her daughter began attending GDMS in the Pre-Primary Class. In 2007, Jeanne-Marie acted as the Parent Liaison, helping with Montessori Method meetings for parents. After completing her Primary Training at The Montessori Institute of Atlanta in 2009, she joined the staff as Education Director. Jeanne-Marie also holds a BA in English with a Minor in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina and a MA in Rhetoric and Composition from Georgia State University.
Michlynn O'Dell, Office Manager Michelle Cleary, Meal Program Director Michelle holds a BS in Nutrition and Food Management, Dietetics option from Oregon State University. She has extensive foodservice experience, spanning almost 10 years, including roles from counter service through to management in several different restaurant environments. Michelle brings her passion for healthy eating and farm-to-table awareness to the GDMS Meal Program, applying her personal cooking style to our program to the benefit of all of our children at GDMS. In addtional to planning, shopping for, and preparing all of the meals, Michelle is also involved in the classrooms, helping raise the children's awareness of healthy eating and cooking. Michelle is also the parent of two children who attend GDMS.
